Where do you stand?
Privilege Walk
Privilege walks have gained popularity as a Social Justice methodology of addressing privilege within a group. For each privilege or not having one, an individual steps either backward or forward depending on their answer. The point of the activity is to highlight how far ahead or behind someone can be just based on their privileges in life.

Privilege walks can do more harm than good in the attempt address the varying levels of privilege in a group. It can rely on “outing” or the emotional labor of the more marginalized people who are taking part in it. You may still utilize this activity in class or within staff with modifications. For example having individuals tally up their own points per privilege they have then dropping those numbers anonymously into in a hat or other method of information gathering. Those numbers can then be shown without names attached while generating the same impact as a privilege walk would. "Privilege for sale" would be another activity that is able to address privilege.
